Max Dunbar has been CEO of Manchester Jewish Museum (MJM) for the past 7 years. Under his leadership MJM has significantly grown, attracting new audiences through diverse programming ranging from Bollywood concerts and Irish folk nights (#SynaGigs) to talks by Maureen Lipman, Simon Schama and Howard Jacobson. He now leads a £6million capital project which will result in a new Jewish Museum opening in Manchester in 2020 with a world-class gallery, community activity studio and authentic Jewish café, serving chicken soup and fresh bagels! Prior to MJM, Max has worked for a range of cultural organisations, ranging from the Word Rugby Museum in Twickenham to Christie’s Fine Art Auctioneers and the National Portrait Gallery.
