Dave Moutrey is Director and Chief Executive of HOME Manchester a large purpose-built cross art form venue that opened in May 2015 attracting 29,000 to the opening weekend and over 1,000,000 visits in the first year of operation. HOME was formed from the merger of Cornerhouse and Library Theatre Company in 2012, a project that was conceived and led by him.
HOME includes 5 cinemas, education spaces, digital production and broadcast facilities, a 500 seat theatre, 150 seat flexible theatre, 500m2 gallery space, café bar, restaurant, offices and other ancillary spaces consistent with a production centre. It is a ‘making place’, providing new opportunities for artists and audiences to create work in a different way together, as well as a social and cultural hub.
Dave joined HOME, formerly Cornerhouse, in 1998 after eight years as Director of Arts About Manchester (now All About Audiences) the regional arts marketing and audience development agency. He had previously managed the Abraham Moss Centre Theatre in North Manchester. He is a qualified drama teacher and was until recently a practising artist.
In addition to leading HOME Dave is a members of the British Council International Arts Advisory Group and a trustee of the Abandon Normal Devices Festival and regularly speaks on arts leadership and management.
Dave is a Fellow of the RSA, a member of the Chartered Management Institute, and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
